Creative Partnership

Central Saint Martins X Way of Life

“No matter where you live, or where you’re from, there needs to be a sense of belonging. I think that’s a universal thing that everyone can relate to.”

Super Ceramics! is a collaborative showcase between Central Saint Martins’ Ceramic Design students and Way of Life’s The Sessile residences. Designed to celebrate the beauty found in texture, form, color, and materiality, the project elevated everyday ceramic pieces into symbols of creativity, personality, and lived experience.

Rather than a white-wall gallery, we activated space within The Sessile’s residential environment- enabling residents to encounter art in their daily routines. Studio process, hands-on creation, and material dialogue became part of the story, reinforcing Way of Life’s ethos of home, craft, and belonging.

Super Ceramics! reinforced Way of Life’s reputation as a design-led lifestyle brand rooted in community and culture. Partnering with CSM brought fresh ideas and credibility, deepening authenticity, and positioning The Sessile as more than accommodation — a creative hub where artistry is lived, not just displayed.

We curated a selection of handcrafted objects- from nested bowls and abstract trays to star-shaped vases and candle holders- combining raw edges with refined finishes. Earthy tones, soft pastels, and natural clay hues met subtle glazes; the interplay of light, shadow, texture, and organic layout created an immersive sensory experience.

In a crowded lifestyle and real estate market, architecture and amenities alone are no longer enough to define a brand. Way of Life needed to establish The Sessile not just as a place to live, but as a cultural space where creativity, community, and identity intersect. The challenge was to create an activation that would differentiate the brand, build authenticity, and embed art and design into the everyday fabric of residents’ lives — while also strengthening ties with the local creative community.

The Challenge

I developed Super Ceramics! — a collaborative showcase between Central Saint Martins’ Ceramic Design students and Way of Life’s The Sessile. The vision was simple but powerful: to celebrate process as much as product, elevating clay, glaze, and imagination into forms that carried personality and authenticity. By partnering with one of the world’s most respected design schools, the project positioned Way of Life as a curator of creative living — reinforcing its ethos of home, culture, and belonging while giving emerging designers a platform to experiment and showcase their craft.

My Solution

Curated Objects & Aesthetic — Abstract trays, nested bowls, star-shaped vases, candleholders, and cake stands were displayed in organic compositions. Colour and material palettes leaned into earthy tones, soft pastels, raw clays, and subtle glazes — a balance of refined and imperfect that told the story of process.

Immersive Visual Storytelling — I directed mood boards, behind-the-scenes studio imagery, and final styled shoots, weaving together the journey from raw clay to finished product. Natural light, texture, and shadow were key to evoking tactility.

Space Activation — Rather than a sterile gallery, the work was presented within The Sessile’s residential setting. By embedding the pieces in lived-in spaces, residents could experience art as part of daily life, not an abstract showcase.

Community & Collaboration — The partnership gave students exposure while enriching The Sessile’s cultural narrative — a win-win synergy that reflected Way of Life’s values.
